Patch 4.0.3a (a.k.a. “The Sundering Shattering” for those who prefer catchy titles) is nearly upon us. By most accounts it will be arriving tomorrow, or perhaps today depending on when you are reading this post. Change is all around us, and it’s pretty exciting.
Inspired by the coming cataclysm, I’ve made one superficial change . . . → Read More: A Fresh Start

Sometimes it would be nice to make my titles less informative and more fun, but hey, I want people to be able to find this information when they Google it. Let’s consider the alternate title to be “Oh joy, we get to make gear lists again!”
The goal for this post is to gather . . . → Read More: Resto Shaman Cataclysm Pre-Raid Loot List

Patch 4.0.1 and Cataclysm made substantial changes to the raid buffs and debuffs provided by various classes and specs. For a great overview of all buffs and debuffs check out this post by Semedori at Elitist Jerks. Well, I have had exactly one raid night to adjust to the new 4.0.1 healing model. There are so many different variables going on that it’s almost impossible to get an accurate picture of how resto shamans will shake out. Like me, you may realize that there is a 4.0.1 patch on the public test realm that will soon be hitting the live servers and changing everything we know about how to play a resto shaman. Frankly, I can’t get too excited about using my limited time and energy to learn things that will . . . → Read More: Patch 4.0 Resto Shaman Build Speculation

Time to re-awaken the dormant blog. With MMO Champion predicting a November 2nd release date, I’m now officially excited about Cataclysm. Let’s get back in the swing of things with a nice rant.
One of my pet peeves is people who fail to interrupt spell casters in PvE. I don’t PvP very much, but . . . → Read More: Why You Are Not Interrupting Enough

Well, I had a draft post about the new Shaman talent specs, but recently Blizzard has announced that they are cutting the talent trees down greatly, which is going to render that entire post moot. If you’re curious, here’s what I was thinking about using for a raiding spec based on the last beta . . . → Read More: No Longer Relevant Talent Tree Analysis, RealID

From this point out, I’m going to assume that you have access to the dual spec feature, or have just decided to level as a resto shaman. That way, we can focus on one talent tree at a time, rather than discussing elemental leveling along the way. I’m going to deal with a big . . . → Read More: Leveling a Resto Shaman: 40-69

Power Auras is a great addon to help you keep track of buffs, debuffs, cooldowns, etc., while keeping your eyes up on your character, where you can see what is happening. Instead of on your action bars, where you can’t see what is happening.
I use Power Auras to track my Riptide Cooldown, Earth . . . → Read More: Power Auras for the Resto Shaman
